We left MERCU after breakfast at around 9am and headed to town to get dried & salted fish. We stopped by Pantai Batu Hitam and raided a nearby shop..hehe..

We then headed straight to Gambang road, stopped to refuel at Petronas just before the intersection and had light brunch.

From here, we splitted ways when I turned right into LPT highway and GWS turned left to Pekan/Segamat/JB route.

Day 3 of the SUMMER RIDE 2007..

As usual, we all had early morning breakfast at the hotel. Menu was Laksam(a local dish similar to the laksa), nasi lemak, bacons, eggs and pastries. It rained while we had breakfast but it soon stopped nearing 8am.

We all left the hotel after the ritual group foto and headed for Pasar Payang, a local market selling from clothing to keropok..Towkay Tan stopped for more durians at the market..while the rest shopped for tit-bits which was famous at this market.

We left Pasar Payang after an hour of shopping for the ladies..(and men too)..we headed to Marang where we stopped for 10 minutes for ikan kering (dried fish) and sotong kering (dried cuttlefish)..

We then continued the journey heading towards Kuantan. We convoyed straight to Zoom Rider Cafe where we all had lunch.

After lunch, we continued the journey via the Tanjung Lumpur route where we parted with GWS. Me, Azizi, Zaidi & Paklang continued the journey to KL via the Gambang tol thru the east coast highway.

We stopped for a quick bite at Temerloh R&R but headed back on the road fearing the rain and heavy traffic back in KL. First to exit was Paklang at the MRR2, followed by Azizi at the Sg Buluh interchange and last but not least, Zaidi at the Guthrie highway interchange. We arrived home safely around 7.30pm.

All in all, it was a great ride..to Aboh, thanks for the pictures..have fun in Dubai (or Abu Dhabi or wherever it is that you are going)..come back soon..rides wouldnt be fun without you & mamasu...

It was day 2 of the Summer Ride 2007. We all gathered at the coffee house for the hotel breakfast as early as 7am..while waiting for the rest to come down, check out and have their breakfast, some took the opportunity to wipe their machines from last nite's rain.

After our routine group foto session in front of the hotel,we rode off from the hotel at 9am sharp heading to the nearest petrol kiosk to refuel. Then off we all rode to Kelantan via Baling, Tasik Banding, Jeli route.

We even stopped by at Tasik Banding for a quick snack & drinks. At this point, a fellow biker, riding a Honda ST (obviously having no CB radio to communicate between other bikers) had over shoot the pit stop and fellow GWS Fendi had to run after him. Fendi finally manages to catch the ST at Jeli, which is abt 90km away.

At the Tasik Banding route, not only a fellow GWS winger had fell down during one off the twisting turns plus our fellow Voyager biker also fell during a steep hill u-turn manouvre.. we witnessed a fatal accident involving an army vehicle..all of us rode slow after that..

At 1pm..we all had lunch at Puncak Titiwangsa, which was the highest point of the Banjaran Titiwangsa..while taking breath taking pictures of the gorge.

We continued our journey at 2pm sharp heading towards Terengganu. We had contacted Terengganu Bikers much earlier to update on our journey progress..

We met up with Terengganu Bikers' Hj Tarmizi (A fellow winger) at sharp 4pm just before the Kelantan-Terengganu border..after a short & quick refuel, we were joined by other Terengganu Rider's Group (TRG) bikers whom escorted us to the hotel, which was another 100km from the border.

We arrived at Permai Park Inn Hotel at around 5.30pm..after a brief check in procedure done by me, everyone got their room keys by 6pm. Then its rest time for all of us whom had travelled for more than 300km.

Sharp 8pm all of us wingers had waited downstairs at the lobby for TRG bikers to come fetch us and escort us to Restauran Putri,a floating restaurant in the heart of Kuala Terengganu.

We were greeted by a kompang troupe and after a few short speeches, the Terengganu Tourism Department gave GWS a traditional dance performance, displaying Terengganu's local traditional dances. GWS Tyson was also called to the stage to join in for a joget session.

We ended the nite at the floating restaurant with a group foto together with the Terengganu Bikers.

Although it rained during dinner, all of us had fun..we rode back to the hotel and rest for the nite..another long day ahead tomorow as the route will be Kuala Terengganu-Kuantan-Singapore(for some) & KL(for the rest).

Best la outing cmnie... Wed 25-Jul-2007 22:37

A total of 21 bikes attended the ride with 2 Voyagers, 1 ST1300 and the rest are wings.

First night we all stayed at Sri Malaysia Kulim..after checking in, we went for durian treat by Towkay Tan..it was a feast!! Rambutans also got..we even brought back some rambutans each..

At night, we were treated to dinner at one of the Kulim wingers' restaurant..great food I must say..Bouncer joined us..

It rained as we reached Kulim, it rained while we went for the durian ride and it rained while we rode back from the durian ride..all in all, it was a good first day of the SUMMER RIDE 2007..

MARSHALL COURSE @ MAKTAB TEKNIK PDRM, BAKRI, MUAR - DAY 3

Its Day 3 & our final day on our MARSHALL COURSE..we had our usual morning breakfast, then we rode to the training ground for our usual morning warm-ups and the usual morning briefing.

Today morning, we shall be doing the trainings yesterday in a combination form. Yesterday we learned the Slalom, the Zig Zag formation, slow riding & the emergency braking procedure. Today, we shall be doing ALL that in a combination style manner.

After we all had done our combination riding, we break for lunch and rode out to Bkt Kepong in a convoy. During the convoy to Bkt Kepong, we all had our chance to be Marshalls and supervised by the PDRM escorts..

At Bkt Kepong, we learned abt the struggle and the despair the locals went thru during the communist attack back in the 50's. We even had a moment of silence and gave prayer to the souls that had perished during the struggle. we even saw the flood line the station endured in 2006..close to 15feet of water.

After the half an hour tour of the original Bkt Kepong police station, we convoyed back to the camp for tea and the official closing ceremony.

MARSHALL COURSE @ MAKTAB TEKNIK PDRM, BAKRI, MUAR - DAY 2

Its Day 2 of the MARSHALL COURSE and we had a hard time adjusting to the police barracks. All in all, the first night made me feel as if I am back in my boarding school days.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tY9eHNE0wJY <- click here to view a demo from the PDRM instructor

Day 2 had us see the advance riding ways shown to us by the experts and then we all had to do with our machines..then we break for lunch and after which, we all went out for our MARSHALL course on the road.

Pity our TZM buddies broke down along the way but the rest remained in the group..

We all got back safely to the camp and we had the de-briefing session. After dinner, we had durians sent from Kuantan and had a feast with a few cadets as well..

Later we all went to the local bowling alley for a few games to unwind from the daily heat.

We ended the night around midnight after refueling our machines for another day ahead of us..

MARSHALL COURSE @ MAKTAB TEKNIK PDRM, BAKRI, MUAR - DAY 1

I attended a MARSHALL COURSE at the Maktab Teknik PDRM in Muar over the weekend. The course is about safety riding, defensive riding, advance riding and Marshall duties, responsibilities & conduct. A total of 34 riders attended the course from various motorcycle groups like CRC (Cops Riders Club), MOBIKES Club, GAPURA, KRRUA and a few others.

It was a new experience for me and the rest of the participants as we learned new things and new techniques about riding.

Day 1 was the day we rode to Muar and arrived around noon. We checked in to our rooms, headed for Friday prayers and then lunch.

Classes started at 3pm with introduction, rules & regulation and a get -to-know the rest of the participants & coaches.
